Apart from choosing the right skip bin size, you need to know what can and can’t go into our bins. The list below outlines what types of waste and specific items are permitted and which are not. If you’re unsure about any materials, feel free to contact us at 1300 632 201 before making a booking.
Weight limits apply to all skip bins — you can find the specific weight allowances for each size on our Bin Sizes page.

General Waste
General Waste refers to most things around the home or business that are considered rubbish. We also accept medium waste, which includes a mixture of different waste types.
This includes:
- Electrical or white goods
- Toys & clothes
- Hand or power-tools
- Bric-a-brac
- Cabinets
- Cardboard, plastic or steel waste
- Unwanted household items

Green Waste
Green waste is made up of general garden waste, excluding soil.
This can include:
- Grass
- Weeds
- Leaves
- Flowers
* Excludes soil

Straight Heavy Waste
Straight Heavy Waste consists of a single item listed below and can only be loaded into our 2 & 6 cubic metre skip bins.
We accept the following straight heavy waste:
- Soil
- Concrete
- Combination of Bricks & Concrete
Mattress Removal
If it’s just a mattress or base you need removed, we can also arrange that. Contact Melton Mattress Disposal.
Prohibited Items
The following items are not accepted and must not be placed in our skip bins:
- Putrescible waste (food waste etc.)
- Asbestos
- Hazardous materials
- Liquids and oils
- Paint (dry paint is acceptable)
- Chemicals
- Gas bottles
